There’s plenty to do on the Sunny Coast so if you’re coming to town for Strummingbird, here are a few of the best local spots to eat, sink a cold one, and kick back.

Ripper spot to start your day. This cafe is nestled in a tin shed, and serves up Aussie/Asian brunch mashups with some bangin’ coffee and brekkie mimosas.
Tucked away down a Mooloolaba backstreet, The Velo Project is a laid-back local favourite. Expect great coffee, tasty food, and good vibes.
WHERE TO EAT:

Famous for their smoky ribs, epic burgers, and ice-cold drinks. The slow-cooked beef short ribs are a no-brainer, you’ll find yourself going back for round two in no time.
A fun and casual spot to go with your mates that serves up tacos and margaritas.
PAVILION MOOLOOLABA
Brekkie with a view, this beachfront spot’s always a solid choice. The eggs benny is a brunch favourite and, if you hang around til later, the Strawberry Fields Cocktail at sunset is hard to beat.
AUGELLO’S – FINE DINING MOOLOOLABA
A local favourite with a stack of awards under their belt. One bite and you’ll get what the fuss is about.
A burger bar in Palmwoods known for its handcrafted burgers and milkshakes. Have the ‘palmyville hotbird’ if you’re looking for a bit of a kick, and their cookies n’ cream milkshake to wash it all down.

DAY TRIP TO NOOSA:
Head to Noosa main beach to watch the surfers, then stroll around Hastings street for some boutique shopping and tasty bites. End your day with a walk in the Noosa National Park with some amazing coastal views, keep your eyes peeled, you could even spot a koala.
SEA LIFE AQUARIUM
Head to the Sea Life Aquarium, there’s a stack of fun activities. You can get a behind-the-scenes tour, an undersea explorer virtual reality experience, or even diving in for a face-to-fin meet and greet with the sharks (if you’re feeling brave).
AUSTRALIAN ZOO
Get up close and personal with the Aussie wildlife. You can watch live crocodile shows, feed the kangaroos, and cuddle a koala.
TREETOP CHALLENGE ADVENTURE PARK
Test your limits at the Treetop Adventure Park. They have 140 challenges and 12 ziplines sitting in the trees at more than 30 meters above the ground. It’s also right next to the Big Pineapple so you can tick off a local icon while you’re at it. Two birds, one stone.
THE BIG PINEAPPLE
This iconic Sunshine Coast spot has been visited by millions, and there’s even a train you can jump on that takes you around the gorgeous bushland.

The perfect spot for craft beer lovers. With a range of fresh, local brews like the “Larry” Pale ale. Grab a cold one, and kick back with some live music.
This bar’s got a solid selection of drinks, from beers to cocktails. You’ll often find live music or DJs on the weekends.

SHOPPING
Sunshine Plaza is the biggest shopping spot on the Sunshine Coast. You’ll find everything here, from clothes and beauty stores to plenty of cafes and restaurants. Plus, it’s right next to the riverside boardwalk and is perfect for a walk.
