FREE PITCH SITES
We understand that setting up your own site is a labour of love, and if you’ve got your heart set on bringing your tried-and-trusted tent plus camping bits, we will have a limited allocation of 6m x 6m free pitch sites for $200 ($190 + $10 fees). No electricity but no worries, this is for seasoned happy campers. You can also bring a vehicle to park alongside your tent. No maximum on the number of tents you can pitch, as long as you don’t exceed your allocated pitch footprint, or the max number of campers (4 per site).

We have a limited number of campervan sites available, on the festival site, so you can roll up right outside the gates, ready for the weekend. NB these sites are unpowered.4 max. campers per site.

Camping FAQs
Event Facilities
There’s plenty of things to do, eat, see, use but here’s a rundown of the main facilities you can use on the day:
– Shade (lots of trees and the occasional umbrella)
– Sunscreen (from first aid or the info tent)
– Bathrooms
– Free water stations
Where to buy stuff:
– Bars (for a cold one)
– The Smokehouse (for food)
– Official merchandise tent (for gear)
– Phone charging stations
– Cloak room/lockers
Will there be access to power?
There won’t be any outlets available but there will be phone charging stations available.
Can I come and go between the festival and campsite throughout the day?
No. The campground is separate to the festival site and Strummingbird has strictly no passouts which means you can’t go back and forth between the festival and the campsite.
There are no restrictions on coming and going from the campsite and the town before the festival.
What time can I check into the campsite?
You can check in to the Sunshine Coast campsites between the following times:
- FRIDAY: Check in opens 12:00 (midday) and closes at 22:00
- SATURDAY: Check in opens 08:00 and closes at 12:00 (midday)
For the Perth campsite, check-in times are:
- SATURDAY: Check in opens 12:00 (midday) and closes at 22:00
- SUNDAY: Check in opens 08:00 and closes at 12:00 (midday)
What time do I need to check-out of the Campsite by?
Sunshine Coast: Sunday 12:00 (midday)
Perth: Monday 12:00 (midday)
Do I have to buy a car pass when camping?
Your site is big enough for you to drive and park your car alongside your tent. One vehicle per pitch. The footprint of your tent/s and vehicles must fit within a 6x6m site.
Can I sleep in my car?
Sure. As long as you’ve purchased a free pitch or campervan site and the number of people in your car doesn’t exceed the maximum allowed per pitch (max. 4)
Can I only pay for one night?
No, all tent packages are for two nights.
How many people per pitch?
Maximum of 4 people per pitch or campervan site.
I want to camp next to my mates, is that possible?
We can’t guarantee you will be placed next to your mates, but to have the best chance of being close by, we recommend arriving at the campsite at the same time so we can allocate you spots next to each other.
Can I bring food in?
Yes, you can bring food in but you won’t be able to cook anything on BBQs or gas camping stoves.
Can I bring regular drinks in?
Sealed soft drinks, juice and water is fine! Anything unsealed won’t be permitted.
Can I bring in alcohol?
No alcohol will be allowed into the campground.
Do we need blankets or pillows?
Yes, would definitely recommend bringing your own blankets, pillows & sleeping bags.
Can I bring a camp chair?
You can BYO camp chairs.

- Illegal substances
- Camp stoves/gas cookers
- Weapons of any kind
- Alcohol
- Glass of any kind (excluding makeup containers with under 110ml liquid)
- Unsealed drinks
- Aerosols
- Metal water bottles
- Vapes & E-Cigs with more than 110mL liquid
- Liquid and cream of any kind over 200ml (excluding sealed drinks)
- Prescription medication without the label showing your name that matches your ID (Please bring to the accessible & VIP lane on the day to be reviewed by qualified medical staff)
- Any loose or non prescription medication
- Video and audio recording and noise-making devices, including GoPros, selfie sticks & drones (other than mobile phones)
- Professional still cameras (small cameras ARE allowed, fits in your pocket? It’s OK!)
- Walkie Talkies
- Strictly no animals (with the exception of service or assistance animals, such as Guide Dogs)
- Doof sticks, totem poles
- Laser pens or pointers
- Skateboards and rollerblades, hover-boards, scooters, bicycles, and other personal motorised and non-motorised vehicles (Excluding mobility aids)
- Unauthorised solicitation or marketing materials (e.g., handbills, flyers, stickers)
- Promotional material of any kind including flags, banners, posters and signs
- Flares, Fireworks & Sparklers (or any other similar flammables)
- All unapproved unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or drones unless expressly authorised
- Any items determined as dangerous by Security, Event Staff and Law enforcement
Allowed Items
Anything that isn’t on our banned items or isn’t deemed dangerous by Security or event staff is allowed into the campground, but here is a short list of items that are frequently asked about that ARE allowed. Please note these items may differ from what is allowed inside the festival grounds.

- Sealed, non-alcoholic drinks
- Perfume/Cologne in a glass container under 110ml
- Sealed, non-prescription medication
- Aerosols (Deodorants & Dry shampoos)
