We can’t wait to welcome you to Strummingbird on the Sunny Coast. Chances are, the time you’re planning to arrive and leave will be a similar time to everyone else. To make your day as cruisy as possible, make sure you’re across the best ways to get to and from the festival below (we recommend jumping on the free shuttle buses, so ya know).

Best way to get to and from Strummingbird
Getting There:
The free event shuttle buses will drop you right outside the festival gates. The shuttles will run both northbound and southbound between Kawana Shopping World (enter at the corner of Pt Cartwright Drive and Orana Street), Sunshine Coast Turf Club, and the festival site on Sportsman Parade.
If you’re camping, it’s roughly about a 10-minute walk to the festival. A free shuttle will also run between the campground and the festival grounds, but capacity is limited. If you’re able to walk, please do so and leave the shuttle for those who need it most.
Getting Home:
The easiest way home is via the shuttle buses running between Sportsman Parade, Kawana Shopping World, and Sunshine Coast Turf Club.
If you’re leaving at the end of the night, please expect some wait times as everyone will be heading out at once.

Ride Share PU/DO location (Pick up/Drop off)
Getting There:
If you’re coming from further out, we recommend getting your rideshare to drop you at Kawana Shopping World or Sunshine Coast Turf Club and then jumping on one of our shuttle buses. If you’d prefer your rideshare or private car to drop you closer, they can use Innovation Parkway, just keep in mind there will be road closures in place.
Getting Home:
We strongly recommend heading home via the shuttles. If you’d rather get picked up by a rideshare or private car, pick-ups will be available along Innovation Parkway, but expect road closures and possible delays.
Car Parking
There is no day parking available through Strummingbird. We recommend using the shuttle buses or rideshare dropping you off along Innovation Parkway.
If you’re catching the shuttle bus from the north of the festival site, jump on at Kawana Shopping Centre. The closest parking is in the Suncorp Carpark or Event Cinemas carpark, corner of Pt Cartwright Drive and Orana Street.
If you’re catching the shuttle bus from the south of the festival site, jump in at Sunshine Coast Turf Club. There’s parking onsite.
E-scooters and bikes
You must be 16+ to ride an e-scooter and can find more information through this website.
Bike parking will also be available, but it won’t be monitored by security. Please note that bikes are left at your own risk.
Road Closures
There are road closures around Kawana Sports Precinct in the following locations:
- Sportsmans Parade
- Main Drive between Commerce Avenue and Metier Linkway
Other Tips / Info to know
- Plan ahead to make sure you know where you’re heading and you’ve left enough time for your journey so you don’t miss any of your fave acts.
- Follow the signs and directions of event staff in and around the festival, and be respectful of any event staff or police who are trying to help you get into the festival as quickly as possible.
- Make a note of where you’ve been dropped off or the last train times so you know how to get home when the festival ends.
- If you’re tapping out early, this will be the best way to beat the rush. But if you’re sticking it out til the end, take your time making your way to the exit. But if you’re sticking it out til the end, take your time making your way to the exit. Food vendors will stay open after the event closes for late night eats, grab a bite while you wait and plan your journey home.
